2025 North Coast Conference Preview

The new North Coast Conference got off to a stellar start in 2024, crowning Lake Catholic with their first ever conference title. The Cougars will look to repeat in 2025 but will face stiff competition from several opponents. Lake Catholic seniors Emma Madsen and Ella Zampedro have been climbing since their freshman years and will look to exit Mentor leaving a strong legacy. To do so, they will have to stay ahead of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, a program looking to move back toward their glory years. Senior Ava Lewandowski and junior Alexis Urigel might be the players that can take them back to a conference championship. Another team looking to sneak up to the top of the league is Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. CVCA might still have some work to do but they are headed in the right direction, led by senior Avery Olson. Padua and Beaumont will join Elyria Catholic in chasing the title. Elyria Catholic senior Nicole Ferguson will have a chance to fight for Player of the Year honors.

2024 North Coast Conference Preview

2024 will be the inaugural year of the North Coast Conference, which features a mixture of schools from the now defunct Crown Conference and the old North Coast League. The league appears to be wide open in its first year. Lake Catholic, with returning juniors Emma Madsen and Ella Zampedro leading the way, could be the team to beat. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin should be much improved, led by junior Ava Lewandowski and sophomores Alexis Urigel and Sophia Finomore. Beaumont sophomore Alexis Belser brings some good potential and will lead the Blue Streaks while Padua will feature a young lineup headed by sophomores Rylee McKelvey and Tatum O’Toole. CVCA will be under new leadership in first year head coach Linda Staker and Elyria Catholic will look to be heard from as their program continues to grow.
