2026 All-American Conference Preview

Presently, the All-American Conference goes as Canfield goes. The Cardinals had their best run in school history, making it to the State Tournament in 2025. They also return nearly all the talent that took them on that magical journey, setting high expectations for this season. A new challenger will emerge in the conference as Louisville is set to join the AAC in 2026. They will join Austintown-Fitch, Boardman, and Howland in trying to dethrone Canfield. Seniors Alex Conley and Aubree Philibin have grown through the Canfield program and will be strong forces in their senior year. Gianna Ross of Boardman will also play a significant role in the individual standings.

Coach’s Comments- We’re coming off a strong season, but we graduated some outstanding seniors who meant a great deal to our program. While they’ll certainly be missed, we’re excited about the future. Ten of our 13 players are underclassmen, so this is a young team with a lot of talent and potential. We’re looking forward to watching them gain experience and continue building on the success we’ve established.

2026 Chagrin Valley Conference Preview

The largest conference in Northeast Ohio is the Chagrin Valley Conference. It is also one of the top conferences that contains both Division 1 and Division 2 teams in the state of Ohio. The division breakdown can be found by visiting the CVC Page on our website.

The best race in the CVC will once again be in the Valley Division. Chagrin Falls had a historic season in 2025 as they made it to the Division 2 State Championship. Right behind them was Orange, who just missed the cut at the Punderson Sectional. Their top player, Anuja Patel, went to States as an individual, where she finished 15th overall. Patel is back for her senior campaign and will once again be battling for conference supremacy with Elizabeth Pollock, the talented junior from Chagrin Falls. Another interesting twist in 2026 is that Orange will be bumping up to Division 1 due to enrollment figures. They will look to compete in a much stronger field as they make that move. Rootstown has built their program over its first four years but will need to get into reloading mode as they lost several players to graduation. Chardon is always a team with much potential that will be looking to make a splash in their new conference and Berkshire looks to continue their growth. Another name to watch for is West Geauga freshman Anna Phillips, potentially the highest touted player in the Class of 2030. She will have an immediate impact on the CVC Valley Division.

Edgewood is another team that will be moving to Division 1, which will be a difficult jump considering that they lost a good deal of talent to graduation last year. Sophomore Payton Lamson will have a lot to follow at the top of the Warrior lineup as they look to continue their excellent run around the top of the conference and the Lake Division. Madison and Geneva are both teams that will be fighting with Edgewood throughout the entire season. Seniors Kendall Thomas of Madison and Caidyn Siegel of Geneva are very similar players that will try to lead their teams to the top of the Lake Division. Perry is a team looking to recapture past glory and Lakeside should not be far behind.

The Chagrin Division surrounds the city of Cleveland and features some of the top small suburban schools right outside of the city limits. In another tight race, Hawken and Independence look to be the teams that will fight for a league title. The Blue Devils have one of the strongest junior classes in Northeast Ohio while the Hawks will rely on sophomore Gabby Fisher and junior Ivy Neely. Cuyahoga Heights, Lutheran West, and Fairview, all teams featuring the color red, will be looking to catch Independence and Hawken. Also competing are new conference members and district rivals Eastlake North and Willoughby South.

Coach’s Comments- We graduated our very first class of ladies in 2025. That group of girls started our program as freshman in the fall of 2022. They will be greatly missed, but we are excited to begin a new “era”. We will be very raw, with only 2 returning letterwinners, and a group of young ladies who are newer to the game of golf. We will be led by junior, Morgan Giebel (2-yr letterwinner). With a few new faces in the program, we are looking for improvement from day 1 to the end of the season. We are looking to be competitive in every match/tournament.

2026 Cleveland West Conference Preview

This will be the first year that the Cleveland West Conference will have a Girls Golf tournament. Three of the five schools will have new head coaches, including the Buckeye Bucks, who will renew their girls golf program for its first season since the early 2000s, which lasted only a single season. Nick Shea will look to build up Buckeye’s team to be competitive with their CWC foes. Their biggest hurdle will be Rocky River, although the Pirates may be a shell of their past few teams. Rocky River lost several key players to graduation and will look to junior Addisyn Spencer to continue the Pirates’ tradition. Westlake will be a contender to make a move to dethrone Rocky River behind senior Riley Knapp. New head coach Nick Pacholski will have to fill out a roster at Bay that lost some key pieces as well. Depending on who the Rockets are able to complete the roster with, they are another team to watch out for. Daniel Hopkins will take over at North Olmsted and look to help the Eagles fight for the CWC Championship as the league looks to rise to prominence. As an individual, Olivia Andregg of Lakewood is a player that could be the favorite to win the conference championship.

Coach’s Comments- We are excited about the upcoming season and the group of student-athletes returning to our program. We have a strong core of experienced players, along with several talented newcomers who will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. Last season, we finished fourth in a very competitive conference, and our goal is to continue building on that success while competing at a high level throughout the season. We graduated four seniors, including several key starters, so there are important positions to fill. While replacing their leadership and experience will be a challenge, it also creates opportunities for others to step into larger roles and contribute. This team has a great combination of experience, work ethic, and enthusiasm. Our returning players have established a strong foundation, and our newcomers are eager to compete and make meaningful contributions to our team’s success. While we’ll need to replace several key contributors from last season, we’re excited about the depth, potential, and competitive spirit within our program. Our goal is to improve every day, embrace competition, and continue growing together as a team. If we stay committed to those goals and play with confidence and consistency, we believe we can compete at a high level in our conference. 2026 Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference Preview

The biggest jump of teams in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference belonged to the Golden Eagles of United High School. The Eagles finished 11th in the 2024 Sectional Tournament and jumped seven spots in 2025 to finish 4th in 2025 and qualify for Districts for the first time in school history. That gives them something to build on for the 2026 season. The top team will still be Columbiana as they just reload from season to season and have done that for multiple years under coach Chad Moreschi. Seniors Maddie Jackson and Claire Banner are very talented players and should be the low scorers for the Clippers. Southern Local continues to build their program and are poised for a breakthrough season. East Palestine will have an inexperienced roster and will be ready to start the learning process in 2026.

2026 Federal League Preview

In the early 2000s to the mid 2010s, Jackson was the team to beat in the Federal League. Green then had their moment in the sun. Now Hoover continues to be the team to beat in the Federal League. The Hutzler sisters, senior Ellie and sophomore Frankie will post the top scores for the Vikings in 2026 as Hoover looks to get back to the State Tournament, a place that they have made several appearances at recently. It will be up to the third and fourth scores, most likely coming from senior Lauren Kemp and junior Gia Remark, to make the possible. Lake is looking to take over as the team atop the Federal League as they have been inching closer to that position over the past few years. With the emergence of junior Charlie Brophy and sophomore Audrey Goebelt, lake definitely has the potential to be a big factor both in the league and in the Sectional and District tournament. Jackson senior Kennedy Farrell has been a staple in their lineup since she arrived at the high school and her final lap should be a good one as Jackson will once again have a quality team. GlenOak continues their tradition of having a strong player at the top of the lineup with several rotating depth players. Senior Maci Crihfield will resume that role with the Golden Eagles. Green will rely on senior Leah Dang while Perry should have four balanced scorers. McKinley will still be working on being competitive in the league but they are constantly getting better each year.

2026 Greater Cleveland Conference Preview

With the exit of Medina and the introduction of Riverside, things will be a little different in the Greater Cleveland Conference in 2026. The one thing that will remain the same is that Brunswick will be the team to beat. The Blue Devils are strong favorites as junior Ellie and sophomore Emma Gonzalez-Ribble continue their development and rely on senior Rylee Roth and sophomore Brianna Behrend to fill in the team score. Brunswick is strong at the top and their depth will indicate how far they are able to go in the postseason. Their top competitor may be league newbie Painesville Riverside. The Beavers are still a very new girls golf program and now will be in a new conference for the 2026 season. Riverside has a trio of seniors who have established themselves as great ambassadors for the program in Sydney Barker, Kaylee Naymik, and Kaylee Kirk. Add in sophomore Morliana Victor and Riverside should run out a quality lineup. Strongsville is a team looking to return to prominence. Senior Kanishka Badri will be the moving force in the Mustangs’ lineup and their results will depend on how much the supporting cast improves. Under new head coach, Mark Chicone, the Mentor Cardinals are ready to take another step toward moving up in the conference. Shaker Heights will round out the conference and also look to be improved from their 2025 campaign.

We’ll be transitioning from playing mostly 9-hole matches to competing in 18-hole tournaments, which will challenge our players. We’re excited to embrace that challenge and see how our team grows throughout the season. Having seven returning players gives us a strong foundation, and we’re looking forward to competing both as a team and as individuals. We believe this season will be a great opportunity to continue developing and measuring ourselves against strong competition.

East Canton lost a ton after a dream 2024 season and began rebuilding in 2025. Although they may not be back to the level they completed at over the past several years, they have a young team with a new energetic coach in Matthew Flanagan, and they will look to be a team to be reckoned with in the Inter Valley Conference, where most of their opponents are from the OHSAA East District.

2026 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Preview

The Mahoning Valley Conference continues to grow and is beginning to produce some quality teams and individual golfers. The addition of Southeast really bolstered the prestige of the conference and now with young players coming up, the MVAC has the potential to become a staple of Northeast Ohio golf. Southeast is still the team to beat led by longtime coach Cindy Fesemyer. Juniors Samantha Morgan and Jennifer Mix join sophomore Emily Morrison to lead the scoring for the Pirates, who will also have an infusion of young talent in the program, a recipe for success. Looking to dethrone the Pirates will be the Champion Golden Flashes, who had an emergence last year with the introduction of Avery Robinette to the high school golf scene. Brilea Woods will be the second in command at Champion, who has a deep roster, now including her sister Bobbi Woods. Nick Flaviano’s Mineral Ridge Rams and the G-Men from Garrettsville Garfield are teams that are on the rise while LaBrae, under new coach Chad Kiser, and McDonald are still in program building mode.

Coach’s Comments- The girls have the potential to make this the most memorable and accomplished year in six year Lady Rams golf team history. I know they are more than capable of doing so and I can’t wait to see them make it happen!

Southeast Pirates

Coach’s Comments- We are excited about the upcoming season! The team returns a strong core of experienced golfers who played key roles in last years success. We have a great mix of veteran leadership and young talent. The girls know what it takes to be successful and they are motivated to improve on last year. Leading the way are juniors Samantha Morgan and Jenni Mix along with Emily Morrison and Kristen Dillon. Our depth will add extra strength to our team with softball standout junior Lily Hayes, sophomore Mckenna Keefe, freshman Ava Fox and Ivy Tittel.

2026 Metro Conference Preview

The Metro Athletic Conference could experience a huge shakeup in 2026. A conference that has been dominated by Cloverleaf for the last several years is about to get an infusion of competition for the Colts as Kent Roosevelt switches over from the Suburban League. Tallmadge will also make the jump from the Suburban League to the MAC. The individual championship looks like a fight between Cloverleaf senior Quinn Malarkey and Kent Roosevelt junior Brooke Beatty. Cloverleaf will also rely on senior MacLaine Bell and Kent senior Coco Golden is a very productive player. Streetsboro finished second in the conference in 2025 and will look to finish in the top of the league in 2026 behind seniors Arianna Jacobs and Aryana Puleo. Springfield will see some roster turnover and Norton appears to be heading in the right direction. Tallmadge is in the middle of a rebuild as they add roster depth while Field and Woodridge will provide competition for the Blue Devils.

2026 NCOGGL/Ohio Cardinal Conference Preview

The Mapleton Mounties were one of the top stories in Division 2 golf last season. Coach Adam Harding was able to get the most out of his roster and the team made a successful run to the District Tournament. Mapleton could easily be a top 10 program in Northeast Ohio once again in 2026 as they return some prominent scorers. Their stacked junior class features Kail Callihan, Reagan Hickey, Payten Frye, and Anna Grundy. Wooster will have another new coach in 2026 as Misty Bisesi takes over the Generals. Senior Hailey Bode will return at the top of the lineup and juniors Ava and Ella Scott will just continue to get better as Wooster looks to take another big step.

2026 North Coast Conference Preview

The North Coast Conference has proved to be a very competitive league since its inception and should continue that in 2026. Lake Catholic was able to rise to the top of the league over the past two years but that journey may be a little more difficult to traverse as they attempt to threepeat in 2026. It would be an impressive feat considering they are the only remaining Division 2 team in the conference. Elyria Catholic is the newest team to join the rest of the league in Division 1. The Cougars will rely heavily on junior Mao Edwards, who has shown significant improvement over her high school career. The tough road to a third conference championship will go through both Parma and Chardon as Padua and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin both look to have very strong teams this season. Padua junior Giulia Reginelli, a dual sport star in golf and basketball, rose to prominence last season and can be a huge factor in the conference. NDCL will be led by senior Alexis Urigel and might be the narrow favorites to win the NCC this season. CVCA brings a good combination of experience and youth to the table while Beaumont and Elyria Catholic look to shock the world and the North Coast Conference.

Coach’s Comments- After two successful seasons having won the North Coast Conference and Sectionals, we lost three of our top players and will spend this year developing the next crew of aspiring golfers. That being said, we have two solid golfers returning in Mao Edwards and Maddie Cox, with the rest of the Varsity team working hard. I am excited that we have six incoming freshman who have really taken to summer golf and will get their first taste of competitive golf this season!

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions

Last Year’s Results- 7th at Old Avalon Sectional, Overall record was 12 – 1, 1st in the North Coast Conference Tournament. Won the Mahoning Classic Tournament. Alexis Urigel was the 2025 NCC MVP, Alexis Urigel made it to the District Tournament.
Coach’s Comments- The Lions aren’t defending a title; they are hunting the next peak. The standard for this program remains unchanging: Process over Outcome. Our mindset will always be to play the course, never the opponent. Success will be measured by our daily commitment to elite preparation, sharp skill work, and mental fitness. This season, our journey will begin with several highly competitive tournaments. This stretch will demand complete focus, execution, and trust in the system.

Padua Bruins

Coach’s Comments- We will be a very experienced team looking to win the conference and advance to districts. The team will be led by seniors Rylee Mckelvey, Megan Svec and juniors Giulia Reginelli, Selah Schaffer. We also have a large JV squad that will be pushing the varsity players to keep improving.

2026 Northeast 8 Conference Preview

The Northeast 8 Conference is one of the more isolated leagues in the OHSAA Northeast District. There is talent in the league even though the teams don’t really play in many out of conference events. Once again, both Bulldogs teams, Lakeview and Poland, look to be the class of the conference. Junior Olivia Norris of Lakeview looks to be the favorite to individually win the conference although teammates senior Parker Morris and junior Madeline Isenberg might have something to say about that. Poland will bring a more balanced attack with junior Cadence Berendt and sophomore Capri Carchedi leading the way. South Range is a team on the rise and could be the top contender to jump over Lakeview and Poland. Girard, Hubbard, Niles, and Struthers will compete at the bottom end of the conference.
